Master David Cubine is an eighth-degree Black Belt with over 30 years of experience in the practice and teaching of Shaolin martial arts under the direct supervision of Grandmaster Hiang The. Master Cubine has learned over 120 empty hand and weapons forms in several traditional Shaolin styles, including advanced studies in Tai Chi ,Chi Kung, and Pa Kua. Master Cubine teaches at the Central Kentucky YMCAs. Born in Louisville, he is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has lived in Lexington since 1971 where he operates a multimedia design company. Lexington, KY: Master Dick Gabriel is a 6th degree Black Belt who has been studying Chung Yen Shaolin martial arts since 1977. Born in Louisville, Dick initially joined the club while attending the University of Kentucky in order to write a series of articles as Sports Editor of the Kentucky Kernel.

Dick is currently employed by IMG College, the rights holder for the University of Kentucky TV and radio networks, as well as the Southeastern Conference radio network. Dick also hosts a nightly radio sports talk show in Lexington on WLAP-AM. He spent 22 years as Sports Manager at WKYT-TV in Lexington. During that time, he produced a TV news 6-part series on the club's trip to China and Japan in 1994. Dick also lived two years in Dallas, Texas, where he was an instructor.

Dick earned his sixth degree Black Belt in April of 2011. Dick has extensive studies in Tai Chi, Pa Kua, and Chi Kung.
